This is for G. LOL. I’ve been busy.
I’ve finished my class on Critical Care. I got another B. I’m ok with it. I’m so nervous at NCLEX (license exam) looming closer and closer, and the end of my status as a student. I’m nervous about having to go back to work. It’s incredibly spoiling to be a student-mom with lots of time to be able to spend with Mina, lots of time for my hobbies and to veg when I need it. Yes, there are stressful moments like when a deadline for an assignment is looming, but overall I really enjoy my life. At the same time, I’m also incredibly excited about starting yet another chapter in my life. A new career, being a two-income family again and all the freedom (and responsibilities) that entails, and perhaps another child (I would really, really love another one!).
Some other things that have happened: Been to Vegas and back. Mina watched her first Cirque Du Soleil show, Mystere. She was absolutely delighted at the 1st hour of it then she got bored. The rest of my family however, who was watching for the first time, was blown away. They had a great time and so did I. I’ve been able to finish books. This is big because let me tell you, when I’ve had to read 5 chapters a week, reading for fun kinda lost its appeal. But I did read and enjoyed Stieg Larsson’s Girl With a Dragon Tattoo trilogy.
The most exciting thing that has happened recently has been Comic Con. It was a crazy 4 days of nonstop geekery. I lined up for panels, hung out with other people who enjoyed the same things as I did, I stayed in Ballroom 20 of the San Diego Convention Center all day last Friday, went around the convention room floor Saturday, saw Chuck, got to go into the press room and take pics, went gaga over Nathan Fillion and Yvonne Strahovski, won a ticket for an autograph session for Castle cast which I generously gave to my friend who’s a bigger fan….it was a crazy Comic-Con weekend. I also had my cousin visiting here from Michigan. It’s just been a full life. Incidentally, I would like to thank hubs and my Mom for being such great care-takers of Mina during those days I was mostly gone.
As for Mina, she grows taller, sassier, girlier by the week. She’s very verbal like she’s always been. Most importantly, she’s potty-trained people! It only took forever but it’s done. That chapter is over. I’m both thrilled at her growing independence and also sad that I seem to be losing my baby so fast. She turns 3 this month!
I’ll post pictures next time. Hopefully soon.
