How to Remain Sexy - The Pregnant Version

Remember to:

1. Take a shower. My mom warned me that I may not feel like taking a shower for weeks at a time. Eeewwww! I must admit I love my showers, and when I used to live in the Philippines, I would take two a day sometimes. So far, I’ve managed taking a shower every other day at the very least. Happily, I usually take one everyday.

If you can’t manage a regular shower, esp in your first trimester, have your hubby give you a sponge bath. That should stoke some fires.

2. Brush your teeth. No matter how lazy you get, at least brush your teeth. If you can’t make it to the shower and don’t want your husband’s grubby fingers touching you because your hormones have turned you into an irritable monster, at least brush your teeth. Wash your face while you’re at it. It’s not just a matter of being sexy. It’s also very much related to keeping some dignity, and not scaring off your neighbors, co-workers, or friends with your Godzilla breath.

3. If you can manage, continue wearing some sexy underwear. I really don’t see the point of wearing granny panties until you’re absolutely bulging a watermelon out your tummy. That doesn’t happen until the 7th or 8th month I believe. Come on! With your growing breasts, you’re bound to look like a goddess in your matching lace undies. Opt for black if you’re not sure if you look flattering in your lime green set still.

4. Continue exercising. Or start if you never started. It’s the best way to stave off the un-needed pounds. You want to gain only as much as needed to support the growing life inside of you, not to support your newly-justified fast food habit, or your new-found love affair with the Chinese buffet in the neighborhood. For my height and pre-preggy weight, I should not gain any more than 30 lbs.; 35 at the max. So far, I’m on track, having gained only 6 pounds in my pregnancy. (Okay, I’m smug, sue me).

5. Once in a while, not only to seduce your husband, or not even at all to seduce your husband, get a mani/pedi. Have them wax your legs while you’re at it. And anything else that’s becoming unbecomingly bushy. I mean like your eyebrows, is all. It will do wonders for your self-confidence and over all well-being.

If you want to save some money, have your husband wax or shave it. Your legs, I mean. Even if it turns out to be a not very sexy moment, you’ll have lots of laugh. And retaining your sense of humor is the one thing that trumps all other sexy tips I have.

Update: I have eaten about 20 pimiento-stuffed green olives. I wish to God it could have been washed down with martinis, the dirty kind.

yeah.. and please do not wear the boring maternity clothes/dresses. damn they’ve got way cooler maternity clothes nowadays.

WALK a lot. it’ll not only help you stay fit and on the right weight, but it’ll be easier (according to them) to give birth… I loved walking when i was pregnant.. but i don’t think it helped me during labor. But still wouldn’t hurt to walk at least an hour a day =D

Ever heard of kegel exercise? It really does wonders for you and hubs! *wink*

Enjoy it while you can. When the baby comes out, you’ll be lucky to get 1 and 2 in during the day. And I agree with Linnor, Kegel exercises are good…and you can create a version in which hubby helps. ;-)
